Always keep your mind as bright and clear as the vast sky, the great ocean, and the highest peak, empty of all thoughts.

Set in the heart of Los Angeles, Runyon Canyon Park grants outstanding views of the City of Angels. To reach the park, you wind through a few neighborhoods and arrive at a lot where you can park your vehicle. I visited in early morning, so I did not have difficulty with parking, however, it is a relatively small lot so be wary if you plan on visiting during peak hours. Next, it is a short hike, say 10 minutes, to the top of the hill via a trail.

There are stopping points along the trail that grant views of different portions of the city, some of which allow you to see the Hollywood sign from far away. You can continue along as far as you wish before you can either take the same trail down or another one that will place you in a neighborhood. For how short of a hike it poses, Runyon Canyon gives you a quick way to see Los Angeles in a stunning manner from above.
