We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch – we are going back from whence we came.

Situated near Avila Beach, Pirate’s Cove requires a bit of a hike to reach the actual beach. Being more interested in the coastal views, I opted to instead explore around some of the rock formations that granted an overlook of the Pacific Ocean and California’s beautiful coast.

Views of the Golden State’s striking coast never fail to amaze me, and this lookout was no exception. Visiting around sunset, I enjoyed warm summer air with a bit of a brisk ocean breeze as I looked down at the ocean and rocky coastline. This overlook proved to be nothing short of stunning.
