San Luis Obispo is home to many gorgeous views and hikes. One of the shorter hikes that features a view of Cal Poly SLO’s campus is the hike to the “P”. With the entrance to the trail located behind the red brick dorms, this hike is a bit steep, but not a long one. You can make it to the “P” in 20-25 minutes from the base of the trail.
Once you make it to the top, a gorgeous view awaits you. I did this hike around sunset, so I was able to see the sun disappearing behind neighboring mountains at the time of these photos. At the base of the mountain honing the “P”, you can see all of Cal Poly SLO’s campus. If you look to the left, you can see more of San Luis Obispo. This hike is short and sweet, and offers views well worth your while.
